Meeting minutes 7

To be very frank and honest, for this session, we were not as productive as usual. But wait a second! We have our reasons! Firstly, we are still waiting for the email reply of our external teacher mentor, Mrs. Kala Rajesh before we get started on the resource package. Secondly, Kai Cheng was not here and we lacked manpower. Thirdly, we could not get a computer as all were booked. But, there were still some things that we managed to accomplish.

We had a group discussion discussing various issues about our project. We also met up with our teacher mentor, Mrs. Lim. We basically discussed various issues, including the idea of a scrapbook, the content of our background research and also about our plans in the upcoming weeks and more. Mrs. Lim had the suggestion that each of us kept an individual scrapbook and inside, we could write our reflections and thoughts, paste our photographs and also put in certain newspaper or other kinds of articles relevant to the topic. We should also decorate the scrapbooks and make it presentable, of course. This scrapbook could be a replacement to our blog as the blog, this blog I am writing on now, is a little too plain, wordy and boring. This was just a suggestion and is still not confirmed yet. So, until further notice, this blog will still be active but may be gone in the near future.

Mrs. Lim also gave us invaluable advice about what we should include in our background research. She said that apart from the content from our interview, we should also read up on articles and real life examples of the lives of the intellectually disabled. We could include their achievements, their careers, how the society treat them differently, how the society look down on them and even how some people make use of them and cheat them. There are also a lot more that we can read up on and include in our background research, or if not our portfolios.

So that is all for now. Will make sure to keep you guys updated on our progress in this project in the upcoming weeks.
